Importance of Dust Collection
Removing dust from your workplace’s air is crucial to reduce exposure to possible hazardous particles. That’s why industrial dust handling equipment is the best choice to clean any airborne pollutants that could affect your workers.
Dust collectors are designed for operations that create dust during the processes they carry out, such as mills, breweries and farms. These machines extract surrounding dust through a filter and release purified air through its vents. While styles of these collectors vary, each one removes pollutants from your workplace and discharges clean oxygen back into the area.
Types of Dust Collection Systems
Safety is a top priority for any employee working with fumes and pollutants, and different work areas require specific machinery to keep everyone safe. Based on your business, you can find and choose the collector you need to satisfy all safety requirements. The types of dust collecting equipment include:
1. Fans
These essential components can push or suck the air in the area. Like the HF Series material handling fans, these devices can filter particles like sand, wood chips or grain. A totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) motor doesn’t allow outside air currents to flow inside of it. Instead, it has an external fan that blows outside air over the motor’s frame to provide cooling. If you need a backward curve on your machine, the HBCF negative fan is another option.
2. Filters
Removing pollutants from the surrounding airflow is especially crucial for enclosed spaces. Some filters handle larger dirt buildup, like the MPC option. The MPC device is an ongoing system that pumps in clean oxygen with a filtered bag. Pair an EFM pulse jet with your MPC to handle the lighter dust loads. Shaker filters automatically shake any bags attached to your equipment for continuous use.
3. Airlocks
Attaching airlocks to your collectors allows you to change each system’s filters without turning off the system. It also prevents unpurified air from escaping through the discharge vents.
4. Cyclones
Cyclone machines are longer and cone-shaped for the maximum amount of dust collection and separation. Standard, high efficiency and high volume cyclones are available for your business needs.
5. Self Contained Dust Collectors
This type of collector is typically smaller and designed for smaller shops. It’s a great addition to woodworking areas that generate sawdust or woodchips.
Grain Dust Collection System for Agriculture Applications
Grain and other feed can cause dust, and dust collectors can manage those floating particles in the air. Your grain storage areas benefit from having pristine circulation. When you partner with us at TAM Systems, we will work with you to design a grain dust control system you need for your site. Whether it’s a grain elevator dust collector or another heavy-duty machine, we are here to keep your farm fully equipped.
